Health is more
Health is one of the main goals of many International associations. It is defined relevant by the United Nations (2015) and the European Union (2007, 2010) in order to develop in terms of respect for human rights and of sustainability.
Because of this, Bablog wants to promote it, but before talking about methods, it is fundamental to define what health is.
In order to correctly define health, or rather what is being worked on in hospitals, reference should be made to the World Health Organization (WHO). Indeed, WHO is the unit which provides guidance and coordination on health matters in the United Nations' system. From its constitution (1948), health is defined as "that state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not simply the absence of illness".
Although this definition can be shared by most of the people, its insidious terms are often misleading. In fact, the words "well-being", "psychic" and "social" do not have a universal meaning such as as "physical", but different from person to person. This is because "well-being", "psychic" and "social" are not concrete things that everyone can touch and see but are objects to think about and everyone thinks differently. This implies confusion when someone has to promote health because there is not a clear idea about what it really is.
Leaving aside the immense chapters of "psychic" and "social", it is considered only the word "well-being", because it is the keystone of the definition: that term to which the other three terms refer. "Well-being" comes from the words "good" and "being"; while there can be a universal idea of being, understand as living, the idea of "good" cannot be shared as much. Each person, indeed, has its own range of values to define what is "good" and it is impossible to impose a universal sense of "good". Therefore, the only speculation that can be made on the term "good" is that it is a personal concept. This gives enough space to give a specific definition of health.
Helth, thus, can be reformulated as: "that state of complete personal physical, psychic and social being good and not simply the absence of illness". The shift of attention to the personal component of health makes it possible to assert that there is not one health that is equal between one person and another, but that it depends on how a person thinks about his or her well-being. This also means that being healthy does not necessarily mean being physically healthy, because health is a matter of thoughts, not of the body. This reinforced by the concept that health is not "simple absence of disease". This fundamental passage means that there is the possibility of being healthy despite being ill: the important part is to work on the well-being.
In conclusion, therefore, the real determinant of one's health is not an illness, nor a medical prescription, but self's idea of health, of being good.
This is the health that Bablog wants to promote, or rather, Bablog wants to give back to as many people as possible the responsibility for their health, the responsibility of choosing to be well. A healthy world will be a world where everyone can live their lives well and freely, even if they are ill.
